Stand Up Paddling- Real or imagined?





SUP's Stroke Into Laguna


What is that down at the Laguna coastline that’s been blotting out the sun recently?


A solar eclipse, a low-flying blimp perhaps? Not quite, it’s just a pack of stand-up paddlers stroking by in perfect harmony, looking equal parts graceful and imposing with each stroke of their svelte graphite paddles.


Over the course of this past summer I noticed a growing trend that has taken hold here — stand-up paddle surfing or “supping” as it is also called....

Military children learn the ropes of Surfing




This past weekend at Camp Pendleton Beach, near San Onofre, Laguna surfers from all walks of life pitched in to teach military kids and their parents a thing or two about the joys of riding waves.
Laguna was well represented with lifeguards, doctors, architects, artists and surf rats — just to name a few who signed up to help out with this worthy surf adventure.
